A Reunion for old boys who joined MGS from 1980 to 1989, together with their teachers, was held at School on Saturday 3 May 2008.

together with their teachers, was held at School on Saturday
6 May 2006.
pre-1950
Reunion Saturday 14 May 2005 This highly successful event attracted
275 old boys who enjoyed a sunny day, tours of the School,
a drinks reception in the Main Quadrangle and a fine dinner
in the Refectory.
Year
2002 leavers met up in the refurbished Butty Bar
at School on 4 January 2005. City and United were both playing
that night, but Ian Thorpe and Rodge Alderson enjoyed meeting
up again with a dozen Old Boys.
On Saturday
25th September there was a Reunion Dinner at School
to celebrate the centenary of trekking. In addition to the
conviviality of the Dinner, a commemorative publication
was produced and an extensive exhibition was mounted. We
would be pleased to hear from anyone who might wish to contribute
souvenirs of treks to our archive. We are planning to make
many parts of the archive available on this website in due
course.
1970s
Reunion Saturday 15th May 2004
This event attracted over 200 old boys who enjoyed tours
of the School, followed by dinner in the Refectory. Speeches
were given on behalf of old boys (by Tony Binns), ex-staff
(Keith Richards) and the High Master. Rodger Alderson was
Master of Ceremonies. Tony Binns' speech can be downloaded

2001 Leaver's Reunion
A small number of 2001 leavers met Rodg Alderson and Ian
Thorpe in The Britons Protection in central Manchester for
a few drinks on Saturday 17th April 2004.
The
Reunion for 1980-1989 joiners took place at School on Saturday
10th May 2003
Year 2000 Leavers' Reunion A simple (and free!) year-group
social gathering took place at School on Saturday 5th April
2003, similar to that held for the 1998 and 1999 leavers
in 2001 and 2000. 35 attended and many more sent messages
for display, giving an account of what they are up to.
At the Old
Boys' Dinner on 19th December 2002 Paul Rose (1959-67)
was elected as Recorder to succeed Neil Jones, who served
in that role for 34 years. News of future dinners will appear
on this page in due course.

1999 Leavers' Reunion A simple year-group gathering
