Over 50 OMs attended an excellent Annual Dinner on Thursday 10 April at The Oxford & Cambridge Club, Pall Mall. The Guest Speaker was Michael Crick.
A group visited the Tutankhamun Exhibition at O2 (formerly The Dome) in London on Wednesday 5 March 2008 and ate afterwards at the Pilot Inn, Greenwich.
An informal Pub Evening took place at the Cittie of York, Holborn on Wednesday 30 January. 2007 On Tuesday 6 November 2007 the AGM was held at Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, Fleet Street.
On Thursday 26 July 2007 the annual Golf Day took place at Knole Park, Sevenoaks.
On Friday 6 July 2007 a group of London-based OMs attended the20/20 cricket match between Surrey and Kent at the Oval.

The third biennial St John's Smith Square Concert by MGS musicians was held on Friday 2 March 2007, hosted by the Section. Afterwards, drinks in the Marquess of Granby.

2005 On Tuesday 8 November 2005 the
Annual General Meeting and supper was held at The Old Cheshire
Cheese, Fleet Street.
On Sunday 4 September 2005 a Family
Croquet Day was held at Dulwich Sports Club.
On Thursday 28 July 2005 the annual
Golf Day was held at Royal Cinque Ports, Deal. On Wednesday
1 June members attended Beating the Retreat, Horseguards
Parade, followed by Dinner at the Commonwealth Club. On Saturday
7 Maya delicious lunch for OMs and their partners
was provided at the Chequers pub, Rowhook, Horsham.
More than 50 OMs attended
the London OMA Annual Dinner on Wednesday
13 April, held at St Stephen's
Club, Queen Anne's Gate. The speakers were John Nixon,
Vice-Chairman, Maurice Watkins and the High Master, Dr Christopher
Ray.
The London & SE Section of the OMA hosted
the second biennial Showcase Concert given by MGS musicians
at St John's, Smith Square, Westminster on Friday
4 March. The concert featured the winning entry in
the MGS 2004 Composition Prize, for which the Section provided
a prize of £500.
James Callaghan received the prize from OM Clive Garston,
partner at the law firm Halliwells, which sponsored the concert.
2004 The Annual General Meeting took place on 9 November
in the Williams Room, Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, Fleet Street.
The formation of the 'London and SE Section' was confirmed,
in effect merging the former 'London' and 'Sussex and SE'
Sections. On Thursday 23 September there was
a very good pub outing to The Black Friar, 174 Queen
Victoria Street, EC4, from 6 pm. 30 os so OMs, representing
a wide range of vintages, attended. On 29 July 6 members enjoyed a golf
day at Knole Park, Sevenoaks. Alec
Elmer was the organiser.
In June members enjoyed attending Beating the Retreat, followed
by a meal at The Commonwealth Club.
There was an informal Pub Evening at The Lamb, Lamb Conduit
Street, from 6.30 pm on Thursday 29th April 2004.
The Annual Dinner took place at Regent's College on Thursday
11th March 2004.Forty-two
people enjoyed conversation, a good meal, and speeches from
John Reddish (toasting the pious memory of Hugh Oldham), John
Young (toasting the School) and Dr Martin Stephen, High Master,
responding.
2003 The AGM followed an excellent meal
at The Cheshire Cheese on Fleet Street on Tuesday 11th November.
Alec Elmer was elected as Chairman for the next year.
An informal pub evening was held on October 8th at Ye Olde
Cittie of Yorke, 22 High Holborn (Chancery Lane tube) from
6:30 pm. Following a mail-out to London OMs, lots of new faces
joined London Section regulars. Ian Thorpe from School attended.
Six members enjoyed an excellent afternoon
of golf on July 30th at Clandon Regis Golf Club near Guildford.
A family outing to the River and Rowing Museum at Henley took
place on Saturday 7th June.
The Annual Dinner of the London Section of the OMA took place
at the House of Lords on Friday 7th March 2003, kindly hosted
by Lord Geoffrey Tordoff, OM.
On Friday 21st February 2003 the Section
acted as hosts at a concert at St John's, Smith Square when
MGS musicians played to great acclaim before an audience of
more than 300 a programme which included the winning composition
of the prize instituted by the Section in 2002 and judged
by James MacMillan.
2002 Members and guests visited Highgate
Cemetery for a guided tour, and a small group enjoyed a Golf
Day. The Annual Dinner was held on Thursday 7th March at
the home of the Chemistry Society, Belgrave Square, SW1. David
Maland, High Master from 1978 to 1985, was the principal guest
speaker and the current High Master, Dr Martin Stephen, spoke
about the year in the life of the School.
Members and wives, partners and friends visited the British
Library on Tuesday 29th January and ate together afterwards
at the nearby Potters Restaurant.
2001
We returned to The Cheshire Cheese for our AGM on 13th November.
Edmund Wilkinson, 1949-54, was elected as Chairman and Ian
Shepherd, 1939-47, as Vice-Chairman. It was also pleasing
to note the presence of new members Tom Annear, John Goodall,
George Lee and Richard Rudman, all 1990-97.
An informal pub meeting (bitter at £1.60 a pint!) was
held on Wednesday 3rd October from 7.00pm at the 'Citie of
Yorke' on High Holborn. Committee members and about 30 other
London-based OMs enjoyed conversation, cheap beer and sandwiches.
The Annual Dinner was held at City of London School on Thursday
29th March 2001. Guests of honour were the High Master and
